I think the title is pretty self-explanatory for this post, but I’ll explain it anyway. One of my biggest travel goals is to visit all 50 states with my children. That’s all. NBD. Also, I plan to see most of the states during some type of road trip.
I know, I know! Don’t say it. I have big dreams, high hopes, and I’m a little crazy (thinking of those countless miles cooped up in a car with 2 children arguing about their elbows touching, blaming farts on one another, and alternating between telling me they’re too cold or too hot or how it isn’t fair that the sun in her eyes and not her sister’s.)
I have to be crazy, right?
Even with the bickering. Even with the long drives. Even with the down to the bone exhaustion of driving alone plus participating in activities. I love it!
It’s the thrill of the unknown. It’s the flexible itinerary that fuels my need for spontaneity. It’s getting to talk to people from different walks of life and seeing how varied our experiences are within the same country. It’s waking up every morning in a different state and hearing that area’s version of nature outside the window. It’s the smiles. It’s the Laughs (and Sass). It’s the pictures. It’s the “Thank you, Mommy” when your children realize how much you’ve done for them. And it is so much more than words can describe.

As we take our road trips I’ll come back to this page and add links below to those posts detailing where we went, what we did, where we stayed, our feelings, and of course pics.
